對F. Scott Fitzgerald的片段記憶

2013/07/29新增《大亨小傳》短篇感想。

Going over it again brought Helen nearer, and in the white, soft light that steals upon half sleep near morning he found himself talking to her again.  She said that he was perfectly right about Honoria and that she wanted Honoria to be with him.  She said she was glad he was being good and doing better.  She said a lot of other things--very friendly things--but she was in a swing in a white dress, and swinging faster and faster all the time, so that at the end he could not hear clearly all that she said. ---"Babylon Revisited", F. 回憶往事使他跟Helen格外親近；天濛濛亮的時候，柔和的白色亮光悄悄地照在他的身上，他似醒非醒地跟她談起話來了。她說他給Honoria的安排是再好都沒有了，她要Honoria跟他在一起。她說她感到挺高興，因為他一直規規矩矩，而且做得越來越好。她還說了許多話－－非常親密的話－－可是她穿著白衣服坐在鞦韆上，鞦韆越盪越快，所以最後她說的那一切他都聽不清楚了。－－《重返巴比倫》，菲茲傑拉德

最近因為老師要我尋找畫作的題目，就想起了F. Scott Fitzgerald的作品來了。我好喜歡他的作品，總是帶著一絲感傷的筆調，溫柔剔透地令人心碎。只不過，我也只有看過《Babylon Revisited》這部的文本，以及《The Curious Case of Benjamin Button》和《The Great Gatsby》這兩部的電影。也許該找個時間把他剩下的作品看完。

題外話，我並不是很喜歡《The Curious Case of Benjamin Button》這部作品。不知道為什麼，我看完之後雖然有些失落，卻無法起太大的共鳴。也許該找個時間回去重看了。

話題回到這一段引述上。當初看到這一段的時候，使我悲傷慘了。他是如此地愛她的妻子，卻被旁人視為無物。無法被珍惜的愛，就只好徜徉在回憶裡面，不斷地撫慰自己永遠無法彌補的空洞。讓我想起了當初看到Thomas Hardy的詩《The Walk》、《The Voice》與其短篇故事《On the Western Circuit》的感受...

也許之後這個帖會再補上幾段自己喜歡的引述吧。希望可以...最近一開學又更忙了。

當初在電影中看到這段的時候，其實有點看不懂。但現在好像懂了。

是說今年會重拍這部作品的電影喔，是李奧納多主演的。還蠻期待的呢～

從兩年前看了這部作品，過了許久，我才了解到...原來綠光指的是一個希望，一個理想。過去的我，一直以為他僅僅代表著過度樂觀的美國夢。但其實每個人心中都有一道綠光，一個想讓你拋棄現實、盲目追求的理想。

看過電影之後，我又更愛了F. Scott Fitzgerald好幾分。不管他人怎麼說，我覺得這部電影真的很棒。比起1974的電影版本，更添加了幾分迴盪與逝盡千華之感...尤其它是由《紅磨坊》的導演製作而成，其華麗的視覺效果，以及其作家的口白，都一直讓我想起《紅磨坊》 的橋段。

而這部電影也讓我愛上了Lana Del Rey。她的外表與歌聲真的是太美麗。其歌聲，就如Nikki所說，用「haunting（鬼魅般地吸引人；縈繞於心頭的）」來形容是再適合不過了。

也許我天生就是個活在過去的人吧。
